DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1:- Morning arrival in Guwahati.
– Visit the iconic Kamakhya Temple ( as it closes by evening).
– Explore the Brahmaputra Riverfront for a relaxing stroll.
– Evening: Enjoy a Brahmaputra River Cruise with stunning sunset views.
– Morning: Visit Umananda Temple, located on Umananda Island (short boat ride required).
– Explore Assam State Museum or the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra to learn about Assam’s rich culture and history.
– Visit the Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden or Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary (approx. 1.5 hours from Guwahati) for a chance to spot the one-horned rhinoceros.
– Evening: Spend time shopping for local handicrafts at Fancy Bazaar or enjoy leisure time.
Day 2:- Guwahati to Shillong via Cherrapunji
– Morning drive to Shillong, After Breakfast the capital of Meghalaya, via scenic landscapes
– Today drive to Cherrapunji (65km) – the wettest place on the earth. En-route visit Elephant Falls & Shillong Peak. At Cherrapunji visit Mawsmai Cave, Mawsami Falls, Seven Sister Falls & Nohkalikai Falls. After lunch at Cherrapunji drive back to Shillong.
– One Night Stay at Shillong.
Day 3:- Shillong to Guwahati – Departure
– En route, stop at Umiam Lake (Barapani) for breathtaking views and photo opportunities.
– In Shillong, visit Ward’s Lake, Lady Hydari Park, and Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians.
– Evening: Stroll around Police Bazaar for shopping and try local delicacies.
– Departure: Transfer to the airport/railway station for onward travel.
